The Amarillo Area Centre for Advanced Learning (AACAL), part of Amarillo ISD in Texas, operates a greenhouse for horticultural education and research. Hard water scaling was clogging mist heads, damaging cooling systems, and undermining plant health.

The solution

A ¾” Scaletron was installed on the main water feed to the greenhouse for a six-month performance trial. The catalytic treatment altered the crystalline structure of calcium carbonate, preventing new scale from forming and gradually dissolving existing deposits within the system. The retrofit required no power, consumables, or system redesign, making it a quick, low-impact installation.
