The GSA (‘General Services Administration’ - US Govt Agency), selected Fluid Dynamics for testing and verification as to the effectiveness of our technology. Fluid Dynamics are now the only water conditioner in the world to be approved by the GSA as a suitable alternative to water softening by chemicals.

Fluid Dynamics’ technology has demonstrated its effectiveness in this study, and should be considered for adoption at GSA facilities that are experiencing scaling issues. In water heating systems. Most larger GSA facilities use cooling towers and hydronic heat.

The University of Reading conducted a study to prove the ‘proof of mechanism’ that the catalytic alloy reacted with water in a way that resulted in limescale prevention.

Fluid Dynamics’ water treatment technology significantly reduces the potential for limescale precipitation at ‘end use points’ such as kettles, shower heads and boilers.

Brunel University has carried out a number of successful research projects around non-chemical water treatment with the renowned Prof J. Donaldson. One of the projects involved the study of the affect of our magnetic treatment system on a range of fluids including hard water.

The research we have carried out shows that magnetic fields do interact directly with charged species in fluids and that these interactions change the subsequent behaviour of the charged species. The use of applied magnetic fields to control crystal growth, including scale prevention processes, is part of the general phenomenon -the magnetic treatment of fluids.

Texas A&M University in the USA commissioned a study to find a non-chemical solution to prevent scaling in a novel heat exchanger. The heat exchanger was developed as part of a new type of desalination – Vapour Compression Desalination. Efficiency could not be maintained to produce the vapour due to scale build up so a number of scale prevention methods were evaluated.

The Fluid Dynamics system was tested and chosen / credited as being the most effective method from all of the competing participants (further information available on request).

Harwell University undertook a study focusing on the Colloid-a-tron and its ability to prevent limescale formation in hard water.

Fluid Dynamics exploits the CaCo3 equilibrium by manipulating the local CO3 concentration and, thus, causing CaCo3 crystal formation in the water which reduces the risk of scaling.

Dublin University developed a feasibility study on using catalytic conditioners in heating coils.

Results show that following our catalytic treatment of water, the colloidal calcium carbonate crystal remained in its treated form for the entire test period of 3 months - compared to magnetically treated water which will collapse after 24-48 hours.

Water that has been ‘conditioned’ and is used in recirculating hot water systems may need re-treating after prolonged periods of time (booster). Water that is left open to the air - treatment will degrade over a 2-3 week period

A study was commissioned by Fluid Dynamics with Wroclaw university to show a measurable effect on treated water. This study looked at developing a method for testing the efficiency of treatment in certain waters (district heating systems) and developing a method to measure this effect.

It was shown that the Fluid Dynamics system had a significant effect on redox in water and which can be used as an indicator for successful treatment

As a pioneer of the water conditioner market with unrivalled experience, The International Association of Plumbing & Mechanical Officials (USA) asked Fluid Dynamics to design a testing criteria for water conditioners which could be used in conjunction with obtaining a UPC code.

The IGC 303-14a was developed and is now used as an industry standard in the USA for verifying the efficiency of water conditioners.
